PRACTICAL COUNSELING FOR YOUR LIFE
Hi, I’m Buck (yes, it’s my real name). I’m here to help you feel better, think more clearly, act with intention, and love with all your heart. I’m a licensed therapist, and I’ve been counseling gay men, women, couples, and leaders since 2005.
I can help you...
-
Rediscover yourself through a life transition
-
Enjoy healthier, more fulfilling relationships
-
Heal from grief and loss
-
Recover from self-defeating habits and behaviors
-
Cultivate self-worth, confidence, and love

INDIVIDUALS
Individual counseling helps you:
-
Increase self-worth,
-
get clarity, and
-
make meaning by paying closer attention to your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and choices.
Together we’ll cultivate self-compassion so you feel better about yourself, help you work effectively with your feelings and thoughts, learn to use your body as a resource to stay more grounded, and understand how your past relates to the present, what’s holding you back and how to move forward in your life.
Whether I’m helping you individually or in your relationship, my style is warm, caring and attentive. I strive to cultivate an inviting, relaxed atmosphere environment where you’ll feel safe and fully supported.
RELATIONSHIPS
Since few of us enter our relationships with a playbook, couples counseling is a valuable tool to help you and your partner learn to create a secure, fulfilling and intimate relationship.
I’ll help you:
-
feel closer to each other,
-
resolve gridlock issues,
-
communicate directly and with empathy,
-
deepen sexual connection, and
-
foster love and affection for yourselves and each other.

Since we might work closely together, I figure you may want to know a little about me and why I do this work...

LEARN MORE ABOUT MEAs I said, Buck is my real name. The son of a rancher and Texas high school cheerleader, I was named to be a rodeo star. Since I’ve only donned a cowboy hat and boots during Madonna’s “Music” phase circa 2000, I’d say the whole rodeo thing didn’t take. But the name did, and here I am, a 40-something guy living the dream in Austin. By ‘the dream,’ I mean living fully and imperfectly as myself, and learning to love and be loved - body, mind, heart, & spirit – one day a time. Personally, I do this as a friend, partner, lover, and community member. And professionally as a counselor as well as a life and business coach, having spent close to twenty years as a personal and organizational growth guide.
